How long can you be away from home before reported as a runaway

My parents have been mad at me and expect me to just attend school, come straight home and do what they want me to do here. I want to be able to hang out with my friends for atleast a little while then come straight home. I dont want to get in trouble.from the cops again. I am 17 and I would like to know how long I can be away from home before reported as a run away
